""While Shaina looks forward to her engaging, hands-on Sunday morning classes every week, my husband and I have come to look forward to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of Winchevsky events, and the opportunities to schmooze with our fellow Shule parents." |
Back to Basics - ‘Digging Up’ Jewish Holidays Learn the real story behind Jewish holidays going back 3,500 years to the ancient Canaanites and see how traditions develop over time into our own secular interpretations of the holidays. Students will learn the key symbols, vocabulary, and traditions through music, food, and art. David Lipovitch is the TSJCS Education Director and has taught everything from nursery school through Harvard graduate school. When not seen around the halls at the Winchevsky Centre, he can often be found digging up 3,000 year-old artifacts in Turkey. Sigal "Sigalit" Nissel has been a member of the TSJCS staff since 2005, Sigal is a native speaker of Hebrew and is an experienced day school and supplementary school teacher.
