"While Shaina looks forward to her engaging, hands-on Sunday morning classes every week, my husband and I have come to look forward to the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere of Winchevsky events, and the opportunities to schmooze with our fellow Shule parents." |
The Key to Spain - La Llave de España Use your special key to unlock the door to the house our ancestors left in Spain. Take a journey with us through the mystical, musical cultures of Judeo-Espagnol/Ladino and explore the world of Sephardi Jews. Learn the music, eat the food, sing the songs and hear the stories. An award-winning songwriter, Batsheva has made a lifelong study of Ladino music, and was one of the first singers in the country to introduce Ladino language and music to audiences coast to coast. Batsheva is of Ashkenazi origin, and is well known for her work in Yiddish and Hebrew, as well as for her songwriting and comedy. Renowned Canadian broadcast journalist Ralph Benmergui will be a guest instructor for one of the sessions of this module.
